Selangor beat KL City 3-0, Sabah lose 2-1 to DPMM
Selangor defeated KL City 3-0 at the MBPJ Stadium in Petaling Jaya on Sunday, with goals from A. Selvan, Chrigor Moraes and Eduardo Sosa in front of about 5,000 home fans. The win keeps Selangor third in the Super League on 12 points, behind Johor Darul Ta'zim and Kuching City. In Kota Kinabalu, Sabah lost 2-1 to DPMM at Likas Stadium, their second straight defeat.

SBA rewards Genevie, Isyraf after Malaysia International Series success
The Sarawak Badminton Association has given performance incentives to Genevie Lim and Isyraf Hafizin after their podium finishes at the PETRONAS Malaysia International Series 2026. 1,600 join Oxyenergy Prima Merdeka Run 2026 at Balai Berita Bangsar
About 1,600 participants took part in the Oxyenergy Prima Merdeka Run 2026 organised by Kelab Media Prima at Balai Berita Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, today. The 3.5km and 5.5km runs drew participants of all ages including people with disabilities, and were attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari. Adam Naufal Amril, 15, of SMK Manjalara, Kepong, was the first to cross the finish line in the 5.5km category with a time of 20 minutes.

Agrobank recorded RM600,000 in potential micro-financing through its participation in the Kuala Lumpur Night Market Fiesta. Businesswoman says she was duped into buying Bumiputera-quota shop lots in Damansara
A woman in her 60s claims she was misled by a developer into buying two commercial shop lots in Damansara in 2010 that were actually Bumiputera-quota units. The status only surfaced when she tried to sell the premises, and she now faces a transfer penalty to the Selangor state government. Fahmi and Taufiq join 1,500 runners at Media Prima Merdeka Run in Bangsar
About 1,500 people took part in the Larian Merdeka Oxyenergy Media Prima 2026 in Bangsar, including Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and Youth and Sports Minister Mohammed Taufiq Johari. Three young Malaysian artists with disabilities show work at KL gallery
Three children with disabilities and rare conditions - Zidane, Branden Lim and Sabrina Teoh - have turned art into a way to express themselves and manage their conditions. Their paintings were shown in May at the Seni Mekar: Art in Bloom exhibition at KEN Gallery in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, alongside work by other young artists. Their parents say the show challenges the idea that such children cannot produce sellable art.

Mekdi National Takraw League 2026 opens in October across three cities
The Mekdi National Takraw League 2026 will open competition in Seremban, Sungai Petani and Gong Badak from October, with the final in Kuala Lumpur in November. Gajah Emas Industries managing director Kevin Lim welcomed the under-16 league as a platform for grassroots sepak takraw development. The league, organised by McDonald's Malaysia and Harian Metro, is backed by the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Malaysian Sepaktakraw Federation.

Universiti Malaya researchers turn prawn shells into biodegradable plastic film
Researchers at Universiti Malaya's Faculty of Engineering have converted discarded prawn shells into chitosan, a natural biopolymer, and used it with starch to produce biodegradable plastic films. In soil burial tests, the films began visibly degrading after three weeks and had substantially broken down by the fourth. The work links two Malaysian waste problems - food waste and plastic waste - but the material is still far from commercial use.

Citaglobal Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Citaglobal Land Sdn Bhd, has secured an RM82.1 million design-and-build subcontract from Purnama Base Sdn Bhd. The project covers a residential college at the Institute of Teacher Education's Malay Language Campus in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur, and is due for completion on 30 June 2028. The 22-month contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings.
