Spideraya concert moved to Idea Live Arena Petaling Jaya over haze
The organiser of Konsert Spideraya has moved the Spider concert from Stadium Hoki Bukit Jalil to Idea Live Arena in Petaling Jaya. B7 Resources Sdn Bhd said the change was made because of air pollution, unstable weather and the current haze, but the date and time remain unchanged. Tickets already bought are still valid.

Muhyiddin's lawyer accuses MACC officer of intimidation over police report
At the Kuala Lumpur High Court, lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad accused MACC officer Mazery Mohd Zaini of attempting to intimidate him through a police report lodged by a colleague. Mazery apologised and said the report was meant to check for leaks of classified information. The defence is considering legal action, including contempt proceedings.

Private hospitals group says no tolerance for abuse of medical staff
The Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia has declared zero tolerance for verbal abuse, threats or harassment of medical staff at public and private hospitals. Its president Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh said complaints should be channelled through proper platforms, while staff must also treat patients with respect. The Hospital Staff and Patient Safety Conference at the KLGCC Convention Centre drew about 160 health experts from Malaysia and Australia.

AGC objects to judicial review bid over diesel subsidy targeting
The Attorney General's Chambers objected to a leave application for judicial review by two individuals against the Prime Minister and three ministers over the removal of diesel subsidies in Peninsular Malaysia. The High Court was told the subsidy decision is not subject to judicial review as it is an executive policy matter, and the issue is now academic after subsidies were standardised on July 1.

The father of actor Farouk Hussain, Mohd Hussain Mohd Sultan, died at Sungai Buloh Hospital at 5.03pm last Saturday. Farouk said his father had no chronic illness but had been frail from severe cataracts, dementia and a broken hip after falling in his room.

The High Court in Shah Alam dismissed a lorry driver's appeal against the Director-General of Manpower's decision rejecting his claim for RM19,604 in salary in lieu of notice and termination benefits. The court found R. A. Murugan, 55, had breached his employment contract by staying away from work for more than two consecutive working days after May 13, 2024.

Court orders bungalow on Lorong Raja Uda 1 sold within 12 months
The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered the sale of a bungalow on Lorong Raja Uda 1, near Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, within 12 months to resolve a 15-year dispute between three siblings. Judicial Commissioner Arziah Apandi found their relationship irreparably broken and said the sale was necessary because the eldest brother held only a one-third beneficial share while two-thirds was held in trust for his two sisters.

Rela member dies in three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik; three flee
A Rela member riding a motorcycle was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik in Bentong at about 7.30am yesterday. The three occupants of a Myvi abandoned the car and fled into a nearby oil palm plantation, and police have launched a manhunt. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

UPSI expands Kadazandusun, Iban and Semai as degree majors
Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Tanjong Malim, Perak, became the first Malaysian higher education institution to offer tertiary programmes in Kadazandusun and Iban in 2010, and in 2024 expanded these plus Semai into majors under its Bachelor of Education. Lecturers Julita Norjietta Taisin and Saripah Anak Banseng say a shortage of trained teachers and dwindling daily use threaten the languages, and that more learning materials and digital content are needed.

Zizan Razak admitted he was disappointed his role in the film Terbang was only a mechanic rather than a lead racer. After reading the script, he realised the Chiu Keng Guan film tells the story of national rally legend Karamjit Singh, and he accepted it as an honour.
