Unity minister seeks probe into clergy joke at UMNO assembly

National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang has called for an investigation into a joke about Catholic priests and nuns made during a speech at the 2026 UMNO General Assembly. He said the matter could be probed under Penal Code sections 298 and 298A and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, stressing that religious sensitivities must not be ridiculed.
