Higher HC points set to make LTdL26 King of the Mountain fight fierce
The battle for the King of the Mountain jersey at Le Tour de Langkawi 2026 is expected to stay fierce until the final stages after Hors Classe points at Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands were raised to 25 from 15. LTdL chief operating officer Emir Abdul Jalal said the three summit finishes at Gunung Jerai, Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands will be key, with climbing zones in stages six and eight still offering points. The race runs from 27 September to 4 October over eight stages covering 1,285.5 kilometres.

Mandiri, HAYAT appoint lawyers to challenge bank account freeze

22nd Japanese Film Festival screens 14 films across five cities
The 22nd Japanese Film Festival began on 8 September in the Klang Valley before travelling to George Town, Johor Bahru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu until 18 October. SBA rewards Genevie, Isyraf after Malaysia International Series success
The Sarawak Badminton Association has given performance incentives to Genevie Lim and Isyraf Hafizin after their podium finishes at the PETRONAS Malaysia International Series 2026. Dewan Negara president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah said it was the programme's best showing since it began in 2023. The event aims to bring Parliament closer to the people by letting the public see the proceedings inside the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara.

Over 50 PPR Taman Mulia residents join gotong-royong to foster unity

472 foreigners detained in Immigration raid at Lebuh Pudu
Kuala Lumpur Immigration detained 472 foreign nationals in an integrated enforcement operation at Lebuh Pudu, Kuala Lumpur today. About 2,500 foreigners were checked in the operation that began around 11am, involving nationals from Bangladesh, Myanmar, the Philippines, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, China, Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia. Those detained will be placed at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for further investigation.

1,600 join Oxyenergy Prima Merdeka Run 2026 at Balai Berita Bangsar
About 1,600 participants took part in the Oxyenergy Prima Merdeka Run 2026 organised by Kelab Media Prima at Balai Berita Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, today. The 3.5km and 5.5km runs drew participants of all ages including people with disabilities, and were attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari. Adam Naufal Amril, 15, of SMK Manjalara, Kepong, was the first to cross the finish line in the 5.5km category with a time of 20 minutes.

Immigration raid at Lebuh Pudu nets 472 undocumented foreigners
An integrated operation at Lebuh Pudu in Kuala Lumpur today detained 472 foreigners suspected of lacking valid documents after about 2,500 people were checked. The raid also uncovered premises believed to be a prostitution centre and a clinic run by a fake doctor. All those detained were taken to the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for further action.
