  3. House in Kampung Baru Cendering destroyed 90 percent in fire

    An elderly man, Ismail Ali, 65, escaped after his house in Kampung Baru Cendering, Kuantan, caught fire last night. The fire destroyed about 90 percent of the semi-permanent house, and the operation involved firefighters from BBP Taman Tas and BBP Indera Mahkota. The cause is still under investigation.

  4. Rela member dies in three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik; three flee

    A Rela member riding a motorcycle was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik in Bentong at about 7.30am yesterday. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

  8. Mother and son escape house fire in Kenyalang Park, Kuching

    Two people, Lewis Lau Lee Wei, 39, and his mother Yii Siew Chuo, 70, escaped a fire that broke out in their house at Lorong Sim Kheng Hong 2, Kenyalang Park, Kuching early this morning. A ground-floor room was 80 percent destroyed and the living room was 20 percent affected. The Padungan fire station put out the blaze and handed the two victims over to family members.

  9. Police issue two summonses to Hilux driver filmed driving against traffic in Miri

    Police in Miri tracked down and issued two summonses to a Toyota Hilux driver after dashcam footage of the vehicle being driven against traffic along Jalan Taman Tunku went viral. The driver was located on Monday afternoon and admitted driving against the flow to avoid waiting. He was issued two PDRM Form K257 summonses under Rule 13 of the Road Traffic Rules 166/59.

  10. Two held over aluminium ladder theft in Miri

    Police arrested two local men, aged 45 and 42, after CCTV footage showed the alleged theft of an aluminium ladder outside a house in Miri. The incident happened around 3pm on Sept 11, and the suspects were picked up in Pujut 9 and Desa Pujut Permy. The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.

  11. Two men arrested after testing positive for drugs in Bau

    Two men aged 25 to 29 were arrested beside Jalan Bau-Lundu in Bau, Sarawak, yesterday afternoon on suspicion of drug abuse. The Bau district police chief said both suspects were detained by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Bau district police headquarters and tested positive for drugs in initial urine screening. The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

  12. MACC officer reports Muhyiddin's lawyer to police over document in Jana Wibawa trial

  13. Woman dies after husband stabs her 13 times in Kulim

  14. Two ex-Tabung Haji executives to be charged in Kota Bharu over RM860.3bil RCI case

    Two former Tabung Haji executives will be charged at the Kota Bharu Sessions Court tomorrow over the RCI into the disposal of RM860.3 billion linked to a Saudi property project. Separately, former minister Jamil Khir Baharom and four others were charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today.

  15. Cable thieves hit two Bau telecom towers, RM6,000 lost

    Police in Bau district, Sarawak are investigating the theft of telecommunications cables from two separate communication towers yesterday. The first case at Kampung Opar involved about 80 metres of Power Cable RRU with losses estimated at RM6,000, while the second at Kampung Daun Singai saw about 70 metres of cable taken. Both sites are surrounded by forest and have no CCTV or security guards.

  19. Quarry boulder rolls onto lorry, killing 53-year-old driver

  24. Car rental agent charged in Shah Alam over resale of SUV and rare plate

    A car rental agent accused of reselling and transferring a Toyota Alphard with the rare plate "P111" is expected to be charged at the Shah Alam court at about 8am tomorrow. He faces three charges under Section 471 of the Penal Code for using forged documents, punishable under Section 465. The owner, a car rental company boss, rented out the vehicle for two months from Jan 13 and later found it and the plate had been resold, losing more than RM200,000.

  25. Seven fishermen missing off Pulau Ketam, first day of SAR called off

    Seven men including a boat skipper are missing after leaving Jeti Sementa in Kapar to fish, last seen near Batuan Kencing at about 5.30pm yesterday. The first day of the search and rescue operation was suspended at 7pm and will resume tomorrow morning, with the boat and all seven men still not found.
