Top civil servant asks JPA to review DEEP assessment weightage for ministry secretaries-general

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar has asked the Public Service Department (JPA) to review the weightage of the Demerit Performance Evaluation System (DEEP) for ministry secretaries-general. He wants the assessment to include high-impact and people-centric projects as well as digitalisation, not just development projects. The request follows a presentation session on DEEP evaluation reports for the second quarter of 2026 involving 30 chief officers.
