Man charged with vandalism over shattered glass door at Police Cantonment Complex
A 44-year-old man was charged with vandalism on Sept 17 after a glass door at the main entrance of the Police Cantonment Complex in Singapore was shattered around 11pm on Sept 15. Saravanan Arulanandan Pillay, who was said to be drunk at the time, was ordered to be remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for a medical examination. His case will be mentioned again in court on Oct 1.

A 71-year-old man in Singapore was sentenced to 21 years' jail on Sept 17 for sexually abusing 11 girls, including his daughter, granddaughters and nieces, between 1990 and 2023. The High Court rejected his ill health as a mitigating factor, calling the offences heinous.

Woman, 41, rescued from 16th-floor ledge at Rivervale Drive block in Sengkang
A 41-year-old woman was rescued after she was seen sitting on a low railing outside a 16th-floor HDB flat at Block 123B Rivervale Drive in Sengkang on Monday night. SCDF personnel came down by rope and caught her before she fell, after which she was taken to hospital and apprehended under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008.

Three men jailed for assaulting club patron who poured away beer
Three men assaulted a 50-year-old stranger at GG KTV Nite Club in Singapore on July 30, 2025, after he poured away a beer they offered him. Toh Soon Heng, 63, pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing hurt on Sep 16 and was jailed eight weeks; his two accomplices had earlier been jailed three months and six weeks. The victim suffered facial and head injuries and was given a 34-day medical certificate.

Man jailed 27 months after cannabis parcel intercepted at SingPost Centre
A 28-year-old Singapore permanent resident was sentenced to two years and three months' jail after a parcel containing about 136g of cannabis was intercepted at the SingPost Centre in Eunos Road in September 2025. Anton Andrievsky had ordered the drug from overseas via Telegram and had it sent to his Toa Payoh flat using the previous owner's details. He pleaded guilty to one count of attempted drug possession.

Man caught on CCTV wrecking Orchard Central store, damage estimated at S$1,000
A man was caught on CCTV trashing the Henri Charpentier store at Orchard Central at about 4am on Sep. 13, throwing furniture and shouting while apparently intoxicated. The store's operator is seeking about S$1,000 in compensation and has lodged a police report; investigations are ongoing.

Police seek information on missing 14-year-old last seen at Edgedale Plains, Punggol
Singapore police are appealing for information on 14-year-old Tan Hui Ling Andrea, who was last seen in the vicinity of 58 Edgedale Plains in Punggol on Sep 12 at about 11:45am. She was wearing a grey top and blue shorts. Anyone with information should call the police hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submit it online.

Tiong Bahru man, 59, gets one-year treatment order for firing metal balls at crows
A 59-year-old man in Tiong Bahru built a makeshift crossbow-like device and fired metal ball bearings at crows between April and July 2025, damaging windows in the block opposite his flat. Seah Yam Seng pleaded guilty to endangering passersby and was sentenced on Sep. 15 to a one-year mandatory treatment order, with other charges taken into consideration.

Tower Transit seeks four commuters who helped unresponsive bus driver in Hougang
A Tower Transit bus driver became unresponsive behind the wheel while approaching a bus stop in Hougang Avenue 3 on Sept 14. Four commuters and an SBS Transit driver helped stop the double-decker bus and call for an ambulance; the driver is in stable condition at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Tower Transit is now trying to find the helpers to thank them.

Crow nest falls at Block 462 Crawford Lane; three elderly passers-by pecked
A crow's nest fell from a tree outside Block 462 Crawford Lane in Lavender, Singapore, on Sep. 4, after which the birds became aggressive. Three elderly passers-by were pecked on the head, and the Jalan Besar Town Council helped NParks move the nest on Sep. 9.

King Albert Park bungalow robbery: six jailed
Six men were jailed on Monday over an armed robbery at a luxury bungalow in Singapore's King Albert Park area in 2024, in which $4.9 million in assets were stolen. The gang fled Singapore immediately and moved the loot to Malaysia. A seventh suspect is still at large and is believed to be in Thailand.

A 31-year-old Singaporean man, Cheong Melvin, was sentenced to 13 weeks' jail, fined S$3,400 and disqualified from driving for five years after driving while suspended and showing police a screenshot of a former employee's driving licence. He had reversed into another car at Cardiff Grove in Serangoon Garden on Jan 26, 2025, and also abandoned a vehicle on an expressway after a separate crash.

At Joo Seng Road in Singapore, a man was filmed picking up a community cat and attempting to place it into a carrier in a car boot. NParks investigated and said he is a community cat caregiver who was trying to bring an injured cat to a veterinary clinic; the cat later escaped and was seen back in the neighbourhood.

A 20-year-old woman in Singapore pleaded guilty on Sept 14 to three charges including recruiting a person for exploitation and living on the earnings of prostitution, after exploiting two girls aged about 16. She will return to court on Oct 22 for a reformative training suitability report. One customer, Syahirul Daud Abdul Razak, 26, was sentenced to four weeks' jail for obtaining sexual services from the younger girl.

Bangladeshi worker jailed 13 months, 2 weeks for Geylang fight and false robbery report
A 41-year-old Bangladeshi national was sentenced to 13 months and two weeks' jail after fighting an acquaintance near Lorong 14 Geylang and then falsely telling police he had been robbed of S$256 and his work permit. Bhuyan Md Ozzjal pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing hurt and providing false information, with other charges taken into consideration. He had worked in Singapore for 16 years and hopes to keep working here.

Woman sues Sheng Siong over trolley of rice bags hitting her foot
A woman who was shopping at a Sheng Siong supermarket says an employee pushed a trolley loaded with rice bags into her left foot and back, leaving bruises, swelling and heel injuries. She is seeking about S$11,000 in medical and transport costs, but the supermarket denies negligence and says she walked into the cart. The case is being heard in the State Courts.

CASE received 241 complaints by Sept 11, while over 50 employees gathered at the Claymore Hill headquarters to sign termination notices and file claims for unpaid wages.

Bukit Panjang condo MCST sues developer and four others over balcony concrete fall
The management corporation of Foresque Residences in Bukit Panjang is suing the developer, architect, structural engineer, railing engineer and subcontractor over alleged construction defects after a piece of concrete fell 20m from a third-floor balcony in February 2025. Tests later found about 60 per cent of balcony slab edges at Block 105 produced hollow sounds. The defendants have filed defences at the High Court denying liability.

ICA seizes ivory tusk hidden in tumbler at Keppel Entrance, arrests Indonesian crew member
A 30-year-old Indonesian crew member was arrested at Keppel Entrance Crew Office in Singapore on August 9, 2026, after ICA officers found an elephant ivory tusk concealed inside a modified tumbler in his baggage. He was transiting through Singapore and was referred to NParks for investigation under the Endangered Species Act, which carries fines up to S$500,000 and six years' jail.
