Alam Flora orders 161 EVs worth RM2.76m from Ni Hsin
Alam Flora Sdn Bhd has ordered 161 electric vehicles worth RM2.76 million from Ni Hsin Group Bhd for its waste management operations. The order covers 105 electric motorcycles and 56 electric tricycles, to be delivered by Dec 31, 2026, with deployment in the Klang Valley, Putrajaya, Pahang and Cameron Highlands.

Airbus forecasts 42,000 new jets needed over next 20 years
Airbus said it sees no softening in aircraft demand or deliveries despite geopolitical and supply chain headwinds, speaking at a briefing in Hong Kong on its 2026-2045 Asia-Pacific market forecast. The planemaker expects about 42,000 new aircraft globally over 20 years, with roughly 45% going to Asia-Pacific, and raised India's domestic traffic growth forecast while cutting China's.

AWS cannot restore Bahrain and one UAE cloud zone after Iran war damage
Amazon Web Services said it cannot restore access to its cloud facility in Bahrain and one availability zone in the United Arab Emirates after infrastructure was damaged during the Iran war. The damage exceeded what AWS regional and multi-AZ services are designed to withstand, and the company is helping customers migrate to other regions.

Saudi soft drink brand Kinza seeks Malaysian manufacturing partners at Mihas 2026
Kinza, a Saudi carbonated soft-drink brand, will take part in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (Mihas) 2026 in Kuala Lumpur from Sept 23 to 26, looking for local manufacturing and distribution partners in Malaysia and Indonesia. Frontken unit wins RM118mil Tainan industrial property tender
Frontken Corporation's subsidiary Ares Green Technology Corporation won a public tender for an industrial property in Tainan Xinying Industrial Zone, Taiwan, for NT$920 million (about RM118.16 million). The site, roughly 950 metres from AGTC's existing P1 facility, covers 16,172 sq m of land with seven factory buildings and a solar PV system. Frontken said the purchase supports AGTC's long-term capacity expansion.

Bintai Kinden gets RM1.5m in profit guarantee settlement
Bintai Kinden Corporation Bhd said it reached a full out-of-court settlement with Yeo Eng Lam over a profit guarantee recovery claim, receiving RM1.5 million on Sept 11, 2026. After about RM100,000 in legal fees, the net positive financial impact is expected to be around RM1.4 million. The company said the settlement has no material operational impact.

Nestle Malaysia names Janet Gu as executive director and CFO from Feb 2027
Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd has announced that Minjie Janet Gu will become its executive director and chief financial officer on Feb 1, 2027, succeeding Syed Saiful Islam, who moves to another Nestle market. Gu, currently regional CFO for Nestle Professional Asia, Oceania and Africa, has over 20 years of finance experience including 18 with the Nestle Group. The company disclosed the change in a Bursa Malaysia filing and will make the formal boardroom announcement when the appointment takes effect.

MARC upgrades CCBM to AAA on ECRL-driven loan growth

Malaysia, Maldives agree to start PTA talks
Malaysia and the Maldives have agreed to begin negotiations on a Preferential Trade Agreement during Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's official visit. President Mohamed Muizzu invited Malaysian investment in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, construction and Islamic finance. Anwar said Malaysian exports to the Maldives exceed US$184.1 million.

YTL Power, Ganda Power sign Siemens deal for four more gas turbines
YTL Power International, Ganda Power and Siemens Energy have signed reservation agreements for four additional SGT-9000HL gas turbine units, bringing their total to seven. The turbines will support power generation projects in Malaysia and the region with over 5,250MW combined capacity. The agreements were signed in Kuala Lumpur by YTL Power managing director Datuk Seri Yeoh Seok Hong, Ganda Power director Datuk Syed Budriz Putra Jamalullail and Siemens Energy executive board member Karim Amin.

India consumer regulator widens Apple iOS 18 warranty probe
India's Central Consumer Protection Authority has escalated its investigation into Apple's software warranty terms after complaints that the iOS 18 update damaged iPhone displays and microphones, leaving users to pay for repairs. Apple denies systemic problems and says its no-warranty-on-software policy follows global industry standards. The regulator could order refunds or changes to Apple's practices if the case is upheld.

Proton e.MAS takes over 60pc of Malaysia's EV market, 27,403 registered
Proton e.MAS recorded 27,403 domestic EV registrations from January to August, more than 60 per cent of Malaysia's EV market. Pro-Net said year-to-date registrations reached 27,856 units including exports, with the e.MAS 5 leading the EV segment. All models are locally assembled at Proton's EV plant in the Automotive High Tech Valley in Tanjong Malim.

NCER eyes EV and automotive investments in Kulim, Kedah
The Northern Corridor Implementation Authority is assessing high-technology vehicle projects in Kulim, Kedah, including EV battery and automobile investments, as part of its RM470 billion cumulative investment target by 2030. The NCER 2026-2030 Strategic Development Plan was launched in Putrajaya by Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, with 70 per cent of the target expected from E&E, automotive, tourism and modern agriculture.
