Malaysia, India to review FTA within three to six months
Malaysian Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani met Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi to discuss reviewing the free trade agreement between the two countries. Malaysia recorded a trade surplus of RM25.37 billion with India in 2025, and India wants more balanced trade flows. Johari said his three-day visit also opened cooperation opportunities in the automotive and palm oil industries.

ICA to add enhanced SG Arrival Card to MyICA app from Sept 30
From Sept 30, travellers entering Singapore can submit the enhanced Singapore Arrival Card through the ICA's MyICA mobile app, the authority said on Sept 16. The enhanced card adds seven languages and lets citizens, PRs and long-term pass holders scan their passports to auto-fill details, features previously only on the website or for foreigners.

KBS: All ministries ready for Bahrain GP at Sepang
The Youth and Sports Ministry says preparations to host the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit from 2 to 4 October are running smoothly. Technical committee meetings are held every Tuesday and reports go to Cabinet, involving all ministries on protocol, international invitations and infrastructure. SIC has been fully closed since 7 September for circuit and facility repairs.

Malaysia opts for diplomacy over compensation in cross-border haze issue

Anwar: Special meeting tomorrow to discuss measures on electricity bill hike
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government will hold a special meeting tomorrow to examine immediate mitigation measures to reduce the impact of rising electricity bills on affected households. He stressed that about 80 percent of domestic consumers using no more than 600 kWh a month remain protected and unaffected by the rate increase following higher fuel costs this year.

Hajiji arrives in Kuching for Malaysia Day 2026 celebration
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor arrived in Kuching today to attend the Malaysia Day 2026 celebration, which will be held tonight at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). He arrived at the VIP Terminal of Kuching International Airport at 11.05am and was received by Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Penguang Mangil.
