Safee Sali, Koo Kien Keat to feature in humanoid robot fight league at Pavilion Damansara Heights
Former national footballer Safee Sali and former national doubles shuttler Koo Kien Keat are among the sports personalities expected to take part in New Dawn MY, a human-piloted humanoid robots competition, at Pavilion Arena, Pavilion Damansara Heights in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 3. Organiser Shadow Combat League said the event will feature seven bouts, including four preliminary fights and three championship bouts, with titles contested in the ICON, GLADIATOR and NETRUNNER categories.

Classroom at SK Setia Alam destroyed in fire
A classroom at Sekolah Kebangsaan Setia Alam on Persiaran Setia Prima in Shah Alam caught fire this afternoon. Firefighters received the emergency call at 4.20pm and found the classroom 100 per cent burnt, though the flames were out before the Bukit Jelutong fire station crew arrived. No injuries were reported and investigators are looking into the cause.

Muhammad Adam Iskandar Azharunaim, 20, who looked after his three siblings after their mother died of brain cancer on 24 August, has begun his studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Georgetown. Mother of school stabbing victim vows to keep fighting for justice after accused freed
The mother of Yap Shing Xuen, a 16-year-old girl fatally stabbed at a school in Bandar Utama, has vowed to keep fighting for justice after the Shah Alam High Court acquitted a 15-year-old boy accused of her murder. The judge ordered the boy to be placed at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta in Perak after finding he was of unsound mind at the time of the October 14 attack.

Former Buycar2u director charged with 71 counts of cheating RM4.7mil
A former director of a used-car trading company, Kee Cher Kian, 34, pleaded not guilty at three Sessions Courts in Kuala Lumpur to 71 cheating charges involving RM4.7 million. Police are investigating whether an insider was involved in a group robbery that caused RM2.91 million in losses at a luxury condominium on Jalan Ampang on 7 September. Teen acquitted of schoolmate's murder after court finds him insane
The High Court in Shah Alam acquitted a 15-year-old boy of murdering his 16-year-old schoolmate at a secondary school in Bandar Utama last year, ruling he was of unsound mind at the time. Judge Adlin Abdul Majid ordered him detained and treated at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta in Perak at the pleasure of the Sultan of Selangor. His lawyer said the defence proved insanity under Section 84 of the Penal Code and the prosecution failed to rebut it.

Malaysia SMART team returns from Nepal flood mission, all 11 in good health
The Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) arrived back in Malaysia at 2am today after its humanitarian and disaster relief mission in Nepal. The 11-member team departed Kathmandu on an RMAF A400M aircraft with a refuelling stop in Kolkata, and was confirmed in good health after health screenings at RMAF Subang Air Base. Its drones and other equipment were handed over to Nepali rescue teams searching for flash flood and landslide victims.
