MACC officer tells court no immunity deal with Azman in Muhyiddin trial

Private vehicle inspection centre launched in Sungai Buloh
Transport Minister Anthony Loke launched the M.V.15 CARSOME Academy inspection centre in Sungai Buloh today. He said private inspection centres meeting JPJ standards can cut congestion and waiting times for vehicle ownership transfers to under 20 minutes. The government has also set a uniform price for M.V.15 inspections at all centres.

Government wants more M.V.15 inspection centres opened nationwide

Bandar Utama school stabbing: 15-year-old boy freed after mental disorder defence
A 15-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing a 16-year-old schoolgirl in Bandar Utama last year has been acquitted of murder by the Shah Alam High Court on grounds of mental disorder. The court accepted the defence under Section 84 of the Penal Code that he was temporarily insane at the time. He will receive medication and counselling at a mental hospital until medical officers assess him fit to rejoin society.

Former Buycar2u director charged with 71 counts of cheating RM4.7mil
A former director of a used-car trading company, Kee Cher Kian, 34, pleaded not guilty at three Sessions Courts in Kuala Lumpur to 71 cheating charges involving RM4.7 million. The charges relate to businessman Wong Yoong Jed and transactions at several bank branches in Kuala Lumpur between 5 July and 3 August 2022. The court set bail totalling RM215,000 with one surety and fixed mention for 16 October.

The High Court in Shah Alam acquitted a 15-year-old boy of murdering his 16-year-old schoolmate at a secondary school in Bandar Utama last year, ruling he was of unsound mind at the time. Malaysia SMART team returns from Nepal flood mission, all 11 in good health
The Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) arrived back in Malaysia at 2am today after its humanitarian and disaster relief mission in Nepal. The 11-member team departed Kathmandu on an RMAF A400M aircraft with a refuelling stop in Kolkata, and was confirmed in good health after health screenings at RMAF Subang Air Base. Its drones and other equipment were handed over to Nepali rescue teams searching for flash flood and landslide victims.

Former religious affairs minister Jamil Khir Baharom was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Sept 14 with misappropriating RM860 million from Tabung Haji, pleading not guilty and receiving RM300,000 bail. 22nd Japanese Film Festival screens 14 films across five cities
The 22nd Japanese Film Festival began on 8 September in the Klang Valley before travelling to George Town, Johor Bahru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu until 18 October.
